Judy Wambaire is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda, and a member of both the Ugandan and the East African Law Societies. She holds over 10 years of experience in Banking and Private Practice where she has gathered significant experience as an In-House Counsel.
Currently, she’s the Company Secretary, Head of Legal & Compliance at KCB Bank Uganda Limited, where she’s tasked to provide overall departmental leadership including; providing general counsel, advisory support, and operational execution of the corporate governance policies and procedures of the Bank; facilitating contract negotiation, oversees litigation management, corporate conveyancing; regulatory compliance and enforcement; facilitating legal/statute awareness training as well as providing Company Secretarial services and legal advisory services to the Board.
Prior to her current role, she was the Head Legal and Company Secretary, United Bank for Africa (Uganda) Limited. In this role, she’s credited for spearheading significant contributions to the legal and corporate governance standards of the Bank. She also instituted raft measures that enhanced operational efficiency of the Legal department.
Judy is currently an MBA student at the University of East London; holds a Certificate in the Law of Mergers and Acquisitions from the London School of Economics and Political Science; a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Kampala, Uganda and a Bachelor of Laws LL. B (Hons) from Makerere University.
